The U.S. Department of Labor show strong job prospects for those with degrees in Computer
Science, with much faster than average job growth. For example,
- Positions for Computer Software
Engineers will grow 38% from 2006 to 2016. In May 2006, median annual earnings of
wage-and-salary computer applications software engineers were $79,780.
- Positions for Computer Scientists and
Database Administrators will grow 37% from 2006 to 2016. Median annual earnings of
computer and information scientists, research, were $93,950 in May 2006.
- Positions for Computer System Analysts
will grow 29% from 2006 to 2016. Median annual earnings of wage-and-salary computer
systems analysts were $69,760 in May 2006.
