Our House Cats
Well, BC, our almost 22 year-old black and white cat is no longer with us. That's a long life for a cat and a long time for a special bond to develop between owner and pet. But an odd thing happened. Within a week of becoming a 2-cat household, we found a tiny, half-starved kitten trying to eat out of JJ's feeder outside. We put him in a large dog crate while we attempted to locate his owner. After contacting our neighbors and having no luck, we decided to have him checked over by our local vet. He had a clean bill of health (even though he only weighed 2.5 pounds at 4 months of age). We have named him Linus (he really likes his blanket and we really like Linux) and he has taken over the house. Bean and Linus are best buddies; however, Sylvia still has no use for the little guy. It took me awhile to get some pictures; he had to hold still long enough to get some...
We fostered Bruno, a 17lb. Siamese as part of our feline menagerie. Someone turned him in to our vet, and since he needed a good home... Bruno has no use for the dog or any of the other cats. He likes to go outside, so we have become "doormen" for what we affectionately call "The Brown Lump" (about all he does is sleep!). However, he won't go out if it's too cold (but he will try every door to see if the weather is better outside one than another!) Update: We found Bruno a good home in Frederick, MD!
We lost Bean in February 2006 to lung cancer. He was fine one day and simply collapsed the next. So long, Mr. Bean. We miss ya.
